Effective Legal Systems for Issues Faced by Women

During the past 150 years responsibility and grade of women have increased dramatically. Fewer rights were given to women due to the being assessed to be less brighter and also less gifted then men.

In numerical term, women are the largest disadvantage group in our society. There are also represented in all other categories of disadvantages. Although considerable progress has been achieved in gaining legal recognition for women’s rights in the past century, much remains to be done. The status of women was changed significantly, they have moved away from an almost totally domestic role to one where they have choices to make in terms of career, long-term relationships and the size of there families. Women have made advances in the areas of voting and economic rights, the right to participate in jury duty, social security and property rights. The legislation system has done a lot to help the Governmental Acts.

Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace, formerly called Affirmative Action, is used to describe programs and strategies aimed at gaining equality for women. Equal Opportunity practices ensure all staff has access equally, on the basis of their merit, to employment, promotion, transfers, study leave, training and development, higher duties, committee involvement and so on. It involves thinking broadly about what merit means, how it gets defined and by whom.
