I have a family member who is gay; there is nothing different between him and myself. The way that the government is looking at this is completely off, they do not accept it. The states may or may not accept it, but in reality we are facing the future. There is no reason why people of the same sex should not have the same things as people who are straight. I think that if this was to be recognized with the younger generation being made up of mostly same sex relationships it would be accepted. The people who are voting against it are mainly people who grew up to believe it is not ok. If you look at Afghanistan and Iraq you see that for them its ok men are for pleasure and the women are for making babies. How is it different from the U.S? Germany has accepted it more and more. But in the states we are forced to hide what they really are, ashamed and embarrassed because of one mind thinkers. People I assume think that if they allowed themselves to come out and be there selves that it's going to cause a riot or more gangs or more murder. I do not see it as such they are people, they should have the same rights same laws as we do. But the government will not see it as such, I see it as they can get married without the government forcing their way in and seeing if it is real or not. You do not see the government involving themselves in our marriages why do they have the right to do that to same sex marriages. They have to go through a trial have people check on them monthly just to make sure that it is a for real marriage, it is not fair to anyone. My brother is gay if he chooses to get married to another man then so be it. I do not want the government to have the right to tell him no when it is their right. They should not have to go in front of people and have to vote whether or not that their story is worth them being married. I still see it as the U.S is built on religion one mind thinkers.
