Steps of Writing a Grant Proposal for Domestic Violence Program

When it comes to grant proposals for programs such as The PEACE Domestic Violence Agency there are certain steps that need to be taken to get the job done correctly. This agency is from Portland, Oregon. Portland is a big city with a huge population. With a high populated area there comes an increase in crime, poverty, and domestic violence. Within the last few years there has been a rise in the reports of domestic violence, spousal and child abuse. Enough to cause concern in the community’s and should be addressed.

The Organization Mission

The PEACE Domestic Violence Agency’s Yuen/Terao (2003) “mission is to reduce victim trauma, empower survivors and promote recovery through direct services. PEACE is committed to reducing the incidence of sexual assault and domestic violence through education and strives to challenge societal norms and beliefs that condone and perpetuate violence in the community.”(2003) Ch 4

Funding Opportunities

The National Foundation has two grant programs. These provide funding to non-profit agencies. There are Small Grants that can offer programs one time grants up to $5,000.00. they must be registered charities that have an annual budget that does not exceed $500,000.00. Then there is an Investor Program. This program, an innovative program that is set up to support a total of six organizations each under an objective of the Supporting Families Program. The funding is granted for up to $150,000.00 per year for a maximum of three years.

Grant Proposal Steps
