Imagine Essay

Imagine the moon. It’s a clear winter night. It is a full moon that sits right above your house from your point of view. The moon is bright, white and bigger than you’ve ever seen before. It barely illuminates the trees on your block. After a few seconds you go back inside because are no longer interested.
Imagine the earth; earth without a moon. You think to yourself “No more moon, big deal”. You don’t realize how important it is. There are severe climate changes around the globe that make seasons unpredictable. It gets your attention. Catastrophic events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur on a daily basis. You now start to worry and wonder if the moon will ever come back.
Imagine gravity. You don’t have to because you live with it every day. Now there is no gravity which means the moon no longer revolves around the earth anymore. All the events that have happened due to the missing moon are happening. Everyday activities are altered not knowing if you leave your house you will survive. You soon wake up.
You are lying on your bed and turn your head towards your clock. It is midnight and you have just experienced a nightmare. You get up and walk down your stairs heading for your front door. You go outside and look at the moon just as you did before you went to sleep. It is still above your house but slightly shifted to the left. Now you stare at it and think of how magnificent it is. You go back to bed. Every time you see the moon now you think back to the one night where you had that nightmare.
