There were three main things to look for when considering buying an MP3 player or an IPOD. They were music storage space. A person wants to be able to hear the sharpness of the music. Good video clarity is very important. Someone might want to catch a movie on a long plane or car ride. The last thing to look for is the length of battery and playback times since it can not always be recharged it on the go.
The music storage on the 80g Ipod is far better than the previous versions. The 80g holds 20,000 songs and can also hold movies. Not sure who needs all that space, but converting old compact discs and downloading music over the years adds up. Being able to put all of them in one place is great. No more lugging around compact discs. Some people need a large variety of music. Another reason is more than one family member may share an Ipod. The mother of the house and maybe a child may share an Ipod. For instance when the family is out on the town and the little one gets a restless, he may be able to watch a movie while waiting for dinner or listen to a special playlist of music of just songs that he likes. Another playlist of music could be added for the mother of the house, maybe some Music that she likes to listen to while she does some household chores. Also depending on what mood a person is in, depends on what music they might want to listen too. A few different playlists for instance for working out, a person might want to listen to music to keep them motivated, and when a person is winding down trying to go to sleep, they might want to listen to softer music.
The video option on the Ipod is much better than previous editions. The video is very clear and easy to see, despite the size of the screen. For some people it is difficult to watch a full length movie on the 2.5 inch screen, but when in a car or plane it does come in very handy.
