Is College Really Worth It? That day ranges from the beginning of eighth grade year down to even the last minute of graduation day. Students begin looking at specific colleges due to their atmosphere, admission requirements, admission test, and lest we not forget the price, to decide on which college to attend or even if they will decide to attend college at all. Many students have complained that college is not the route for them; they believe they must come straight out of high school and start working so they can retire earlier. Most students feel that if they do not get a college degree, their families will be disappointed. I feel that college is a choice for the student to make on their own and not family members to force the student to go to college. A high school graduate is confronted with the choice of accepting a job or entering a four-year college program. Is the student better off going to college? The following paragraphs will reveal current studies and statistics related to the idea that I feel a college degree is worth the time and money put into it. With a college degree you will be better prepared for your career choice, have a wider knowledge and experience base, and college may cost a lot but in the end the results outweigh the means resulting in doubled money earned from what was initially put into obtaining the degree of education. I believe a college degree allows you to be prepared for your career by setting you up for specific classes toward your career choice. With these specific classes a student is able to receive all the necessary information about the career that you could not gain on your own.
