I have learned many useful and important lessons as i read “The Leadership Secrets of Santa Claus.” I feel that the most important lessons that I took away from this were: choose your reindeer wisely; listen to the elves; and be good for goodness sake. As you continue to read i will explain each lesson and why it is important.
To choose your reindeer wisely means to really think carefully when you are choosing who to work with for each and every task. One big thing to remember to do when doing this is to know your reindeer “workers” strengths and weaknesses. Once you know these be sure to take advantage of their strengths when assigning them jobs. Diversity is also a big thing to focus on when choosing each worker. The more diversity you have the better the outcome will be in attracting different crowds to events. So remember folks always choose your reindeer wisely.
When listening to elves take a minute and soak in all the feedback your workers are giving you. It is best to take their advice since they are the ones out there running around and know what could be going on or what could possibly use improvement or changes. When you take their advice you can have a very positive outcome. they will be happier to come work and help you knowing that everything will run so smoothly. It also means to step back and walk in their shoes for a day and try to understand when you need to step up and take charge.
Be good for goodness sake always follow the rules, procedures, and set the right examples for others, just as everyone else should. If you want your workers to stay on task and follow your rules you must do the same. Always take every job seriously. If you just sit around slacking off not paying attention and breaking all the rules the workers will think it is ok to do the same and won't even consider the rules as something to do. Always be a positive influence on your workers and show the elves it isn't...
