Food is a necessity in our everyday life. That necessity became easier when the idea of fast-food, food that can be prepared and served very quick, was introduced in the 1900’s. Greg Critser’s essay “Supersize Me” showed how fast-food became easier to get than home cooked food, and unhealthier. In his essay, he showed how David Wallenstein came up with the idea of Supersizing, which is basically increasing the food portion to a size that is abnormally larger. The fast-food restaurant that trademarked “Supersize” was McDonald’s, the world’s largest fast-food chain. This brought many problems to McDonald’s. People claimed they became obese by eating their food. This lead to several individuals suing the McDonald’s corporation but a federal judge threw out the lawsuits. I believe that the people that eat the fast-food are to blame for there own obesity. People eat the food because they are too lazy to cook a meal at home. Some people can’t help to get fast-food because of there busy schedule. I just believe fast food makes life easier and we always try to find the most fast way to do things.

People just feel it is easier to go out and get a meal instead of staying home and cooking one. I agree that it is easier but it sure isn’t healthier. People have seemed to forget what a home-cooked meal is because they have replaced it fast-food. They seem to make people think that a value meal will fill you up more then a meal cooked at home but in reality, you just seem to be hungry again less than an hour after the meal. Families have changed there thoughts for dinner from “What can I cook for my family?” to “What is the easiest thing I can have for dinner tonight?”. I have seen this in my own house where instead of my mother asking “What do you want for dinner?” to “What do you want from McDonald’s?” This has seem to happen to many families. McDonald’s doesn’t force us to eat there food instead of food cooked at home but they don’t want us to stop doing that. No one...
