in both book and movie odysseus has some hard choices to make. he is faced with what should be his easiest chocie. odysseus has to choose between imortalitiy or his family.on of the two chosies he is faced with is imortalitiy. he has to choose if he wants to stay with calypso and become immortal. if i were odysseus i would not choose this. it would be cool to live forever but i would want to live with someone i love. calypso never ages and i would want to its the circle of life. the second choice is family. this iswhat i would choose if i was him. i would want to see my child grow up and have his or her family. i would love not knowiny whats going to happen. not knowing if i could get killed or dying of an illness. i would want the felling of being a human not with a goddess. in the movie the sequence of the events happen differently. in the movie the sirens or siren ia a beautiful goddess. not an ugly bird woman who lures men to there death. he end up staaying with her for 5 YEARS. he thinks he has only stayed five hours or days but he on the outside of the cave they are in its been five. and now his sun is fifteen. soon his mother will have to pick another man to marry and rule the kingdom. because they think hes dead so they are making her do this. her and her son dont think he is dead but every on else thinks he is. but anyways they were the had washed up on this island and found a cave and she turned the ones that went in to the cave into animals. and since a few men waited behind odysseus went in. he was given some plant that was poison so her honey wine would not effect him and turn him to. when he drank the wine she noticed he did not change and then made a deal with him. if he took her to bed then she would change all him men back into humans.
