Trends Paper
The definition of a trend according to freedictionary.com is; 1. The general direction in which something tends to move, 2. A general tendency or inclination, 3. Current style; vogue.
There are different types of trends and in this paper I will be discussing social, political, personal and religious trends.
Social Trends
One of the social trends that is taking place right now in America is immigration from Mexico. Immigration affects the social trends of our country as socially immigrants are accepted and eventually become consumers. Businesses have to cater to the market that is out there, and this includes music, clothing and food consumption. The United States of America is a country that was built on accepting immigrants and adapting to the social trends that these immigrants bring to the country.
Political Trends
The political trend that swept the nation for the last Presidential election was for hope and change. It seems that people are tired of the same old politics that has been running the nation for the past century. The United States has become more liberal than it has been for a long time and the liberal view is trendy. So the future of political trends will depend on how the economy is doing at that time of elections as to what the political trend is.
Personal Trends
A personal trend that has been important to Americans of the last several years has been fitness and health. Twenty four hour health clubs have opened up all over the place as people try to fit exercise into their hectic lives. Everyone wants to find the perfect diet and the health profession has grown at a fast rate. Almost every restaurant has some sort of heart healthy diet, and this has become the personal trendy thing to do.
Religious Trends
