Twenty Four Hours The world is coming to an end in about twenty four hours. So much to think about, and so much to do. So many are people to thank, and so many to forgive. On a day to day basis twenty four hours may seem like twenty four days. But when it is the end of something, these very same hours end up seeming like just a couple of minutes. This is a time when one might realize how important the smallest things in life can be. Hours passing by and all I can think of is my family. As selfish as that may sound, there is nobody else I can think about. No matter how much they have done for me and how much they mean to me because at the end of the day, my family has been the one that provided me with unconditional love. Being an international student, I am two continents and an ocean away from my family. Life for me at this point has taken a drastic turn and priorities seem to have changed. My friends have taken over family. Through the ups and downs, they have been there for me and helped me deal with these situations. What my parents do not know is what my friends know. This is how important my friends are to me now. They are family to me, but a family with conditional love. Yet at a time like this when I know I have a couple of hours left, all I can think of is the family back home rather than the ones right beside me. I am not sure if I should call this human nature because for me this is my first priority, but for others it could be something else. Now comes the thought of expressing to others how I feel about them, be it love or hatred, I want to tell each and every person I know how much they meant to me and how much they did not. There have been people who I have not been in good terms with and now I seem to regret not making up to them. Even though I have time to make up with these people, I would rather spend time with people who have meant a great deal to me during my life.
