Beauty or Beast: Island Tale
Being stranded on an island with no one else other than yourself and every beauty supply sounds like the perfect island, but after being on the island would you keep up the practices or rituals that we get consumed into on a daily basis?When I was in high school I would always dress to impress I was a co captain on the drill team for a year and that tittle followed me through high school and I felt as if I had an image to uphold. In the first two months of college I would dress to impress and always be cute full face of make up and everything, now that I have realized that college at an predominately girls school I don't get all dressed up or fancy unless I feel it's just to beautiful of a day not to.
Being stuck on an island in the beginning I would probably keep up with rituals of dressing in nice clothes, just because it would be a new environment for me and I would not know what to really expect. I would use a laser hair removal laser to remove the hair off my body just because I do not like being hairy and it takes months for the hair to grow back so it is not something I would have to do daily. I would still wear a bra because I feel like if I did not it could possibly cause a health problem later on in life because I have a larger chest then some. I would still brush my teeth because I feel like that is a characteristic of personal hygiene,according to the State Compensation Insurance Fund, Personal hygiene is a concept of cleaning, grooming and caring for your body. It is an important part of our daily lives at home, personal hygiene is not just about combed shiny hair and brushed teeth(SCIF,2000). I would eventually stop dressing up as I did once I arrived in college being the feeling of being a new experience has worn off and there is nobody on the island except me so I would not have any standards to be held to or anybody to impress.
