For the upcoming election, the heat is on between Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton, not only politically: it’s a battle to see which candidates celebrities are siding with. They are not the only ones running; they are just the ones getting all of the attention: unlike Bill Richardson. I did not know he was running or who he was because I was busy figuring out who George Clooney was rooting for. My English Professor mentioned him in class and said that he played baseball and he is the first Hispanic governor in the U.S. So I decided to read more about him. I wanted to know his outlook on foreign relations, his views on the war in Iraq and what his proposal is to help America, not merely the rest of the world. I saw his picture online. He looks like someone that can be my neighbor, with his charismatic and humble face; however, don‘t let his dimples fool you because when it comes down to business, he plays hard. America needs restoration and to build a new reputation and I believe Bill Richardson might be up for the challenge.
William Blaine “Bill Richardson,” was born in California in 1947, the son of Maria Luisa Lopez-Collada, of Mexican heritage. His father is William Blaine Richardson Jr., the son of a naturalist. Raised in Mexico City he will later leave his home town and earn a masters degree from Tufts’ Fletcher of Law and Diplomacy. He married Barbara Flavin, his high school sweetheart. He is often celebrated for being the first Hispanic Governor in the U.S. Under this title, he was widely welcomed by the New Mexicans and made an assertive endeavor to move the state to the fore. As an experienced Congressman, he showed interest in foreign relation which accelerated continual visits around the world to represent U.S. interest.
