Diversity is changing in the work place. Company’s are coming together and bring different cultures together to better their company. By doing this company’s will have a better understanding as a business of how the customer thinks and what they want. The advantages are different views from others with different situations. The different backgrounds experience, by doing this people are opening their eyes to hire radius to a much wider potential audience. The disadvantage of the different language barriers, this brings miscommunication. Many times this may cause conflicts and tension in the work place.
By promoting diversity in the work place managers have to learn how to treat everyone with the same fairness and respect. Managers have to set a example that they expect the diversity in the work place so that others will learn and follow.

This forces employees to develop ways of integrating people from different backgrounds into their workplace. As people from different backgrounds are hired on new perspectives and ideas are brought to bear on the decision making process.

A more diverse workforce/workplace can also make individual employees better prepared to deal with a diverse customer base. What better way to train people to serve customers from diverse backgrounds than to have employees working with other employees from different backgrounds on an everyday basis?
The disadvantage to diversity in the workplace is if the differences among employees are too great. These differences could negatively affect performance over time. A decision to terminate an employee may have to be made if this is the case. If the “diversity” employee is the problem, firing that person may be difficult to impossible for fear of discrimination...
