In early April, Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter for ABC, Inc., successfully recruited many new hires in spite of having been at his new job for only six months, this was his first recruitment effort. He was nervous about taking on such a big responsibility so early on with the company, but he knew that he wanted to make a good impression. Carl started the interview process immediately, after a few days of interviews Carl hired 15 new trainees to for Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor. After he hired each new hire he made sure that all their information was correctly filled out on their applications and sent them to the clinic to get a drug test and physical done. He then contacted Monica to let her know how the interviews went and how many trainees that he hired. Monica informed Carl that he needed to make sure that everything is taken care of for training course, he assured her that it would be. Carl scheduled a new hire orientation to take place June 15, hoping to have all new employees working by July.
Since he already had a date in mind he needed to find a place for the training as soon as possible. He decided to check out the training room for the orientation. There, he found Joe, from technology services, setting up computer terminals. Carl reviewed the scheduling log and found that Joe had also reserved a room for the entire month of June for computer training seminars for the new database software implementation. It is a good thing he found this out right away, now he has time to find another location. Carl called a local hotel next to ABC, Inc. that the company occasionally will use for meeting or training. He was able to book a conference room in the hotel for June 15th for training.
