Christmas in China
On the Morning of December 1, 2007, my family was overjoyed to experience Christmas in a foreign country. China was the destination chosen for the holiday seasons. December 1st was the most exciting, exhilarating, and action packed day. We arrived at the Hartsfield Jackson Airport at 3:00 a.m. Although being a foggy, bone chilling morning and shivering on our way to checking in, it was a lifetime experience we would never forget. This was the most exciting Christmas for our family because we got to spend time together. While waiting to board, I could almost picture myself in Beijing and adding to our family album purely cherished moments and memories.
Suddenly, I felt the clock ticking faster and faster didn’t even realize that we were only 20 minutes away from boarding the plane that would take us to China. After 5 enduring hours of twiddling our thumbs it was finally time to depart to our anticipated trip. Just to imagine us in another country, other than the United States, made me feel a sense of joy, and lightheartedness throughout my entire trip. Once on the plane, I felt that I was a step closer to China, despite the fact that I was going to spend many exhausting and wearying hours in that plane. We were so full of emotions and felicity that we did not feel those lengthy hours go by. We managed to have fun on our way. We shared a few laughs and watched to many movies. Our trip was so long that we even had breakfast, lunch and dinner on the plane. We were desperately wanting to arrive that those 14 hours passed by like lightning.
Soon after, all I remember was waking up to hear the voice of the captain announcing our arrival to Beijing. The captain had a sound of relief in his voice while doing so, thereafter everybody aboard clapped delightedly thanking the captain for our safe landing.
