My research was done on the Hewlett Packard Photosmart 7850 Printer. The user manual for this piece of technology begins with a support page for every language that the manual is offered in. This is good because if for instance someone who only speaks French has purchased this product with an English manual then the first thing that they see is where they will be able to get a copy of the manual in French.
The table of contents page immediately follows the language support page. This page is in the appropriate place in the manual because it shows the user where they will find the information that they need within the manual. The titles of the categories in the table on contents are easy to understand. The table of contents also offers sub categories of the more broad categories in case the user is searching for information about a more specific topic.
The manual begins by explaining the parts of the printer. This is helpful to the reader because they can check if all of the parts that are supposed to be in the box. This section also helps to identify what all of the parts are and how they connect to each other as well as connect to other pieces of technology such as a computer.
The manual as a whole appears to be very clear in its instructions. An important feature that this manual does include is the use of pictures. These pictures help the reader identify where exactly they should be looking on the printer itself as they try to execute the instructions at hand.
The terminology in this manual seems to be in the proper format for someone who is not the most technologically advanced person. It uses simple terms that the reader can understand as well as not get frustrated with.
The manual also flows in an order that the user will easily be able to understand and use. It starts with the first thing that a new user should know such as setting up the printer to troubleshooting any problems that might arise.
Over all I would say that this manual was...
