Problem Formulation and Identification Paper
"If we continue to do things the way we've always done, we'll continue to get the results we've always gotten" (Ginovsky, 2006, 1). This is a phrase heard all too often throughout companies, but seldom understood. In order for companies to prosper, an evaluative process must be conducted on different levels that identify what is currently working for the company and what is needed to prosper. No action can be taken by a company without decisions being made. Decisions are the building blocks of company structure. The decisions are related to action for the reason that all business activity is supported by structure created by decision making. Problem formulation and identification addresses how problems will be identified by a specific company and what measures will be taken to resolve the problem.
National Patient Account Services engages in a consensus decision making style. Consensus is a decision making process that is made by deciding between total consent and disagreement. Consensus depends on all parties sharing similar goals and values. Consensus necessitates each participant to encompass an expansive agreement on specific issues and identify with the overall direction of the company. Consensus implies that everyone accepts and supports the decision and understands the rationale for making the decision. Various units and departments construct the direction of National Patient Account Services. National Patient Account Services creates a common design for developing uniform goal to create consistency and synergism.
