Abstract

Holding a master’s degree in today’s society offers many options for employment. In the business world, a Master’s degree is usually needed for career advancement to obtain an upper level position as well as a possible salary increase within a company. A Master’s degree will allow one to gain an expertise in the area that is studied. A Master’s also allows you to gain real world experience and apply the experience to everyday situations that may arise in the workplace and solutions on how to solve problems.
Earning education for future opportunities

A Master’s degree gives students the chance to think independently, learn actively with team members and professors, and enhance every day working skills. Earning a master’s degree also provides students with the opportunity explore options in various fields and hold upper level positions within a company. After completing my Bachelor’s degree and entering the workforce, I decided that I wanted to advance in my company to explore managerial opportunities. While I was anxious to begin my Master’s program to advance in my career, flexibility options of traditional master’s programs did not fit with my working schedule. I had to post-postpone my Master’s degree that I sought since there were no flexible options. I could not afford to lose hours from work to attend classes at a brick-and-mortar school. Once I discovered that there were accredited online business colleges that were available, I thought I should follow through with my career goal that I established for myself.
