Anybody can be affected by eating disorders although female adolescents and young women are most commonly diagnosed with some type of eating disorder statistics show that 1 Million men struggle with some type of eating disorder, and 7 million women and struggle with eating disorders. The media is said to be a common cause of eating disorders in young children and adolescents. Individuals who are diagnosed with an eating disorder have negative feelings about their physical appearance and body weight, which can disrupt their daily lives and habits. An eating disorder is a person who experiences issues with their eating habits, such as a loss of appetite, overeating, or making yourself vomit after eating are all signs of an eating disorder. There are different types of eating disorders. The most common eating disorders are Anorexia nervosa and Bulimia nervosa. Someone who has an eating disorder may have started out by eating smaller or larger portions of food, and over time they lose control of their urge to eat less or more and they develop an eating disorder. Although there has been research in order to understand eating disorders they are still difficult to understand. The behavioral, biological, and social basis of these illnesses remain mysterious Eating disorders are among the most common of all psychiatric disorders in women. One of the most well-known eating disorders is Anorexia nervosa. This eating disorder effects both men and women, from adolescents to adults. This type of eating disorder is dangerous because people can potentially starve themselves to death. Individuals with anorexia nervosa tend to have an extreme fear of gaining weight and have an indistinct view of their body size and shape.
