I. Abstract
This report examines key factors that there is an educational achievement gap between male and female students in America. The report investigates three reasons for this trend. The key findings are that the gender achievement are influenced because of the naturally abilities of each person and the different brain structure between boys and girls. Moreover, the encouragements of their parents and the expectancies of teachers and society also affect strongly to this problem. Finally, this report also recommends some solutions such as encouraging parents and students‘s awareness, to address this phenomenon.
II. Introduction
According to the survey by US Census Bureau, the statistics show more specific significant gap about the total enrollment to universities after students graduate their high schools. Females had fewer opportunities to afford higher education than their male counterparts in the past but in the present the number of educated women increase very quickly (Pekkarinen 2012, Aliprantis, Dunne and Fee, 2011).
