Golder Associates

Golder Associates has several global projects. One of the projects they are currently involved in is the removal of waste and debris from the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.  Debris removal is important for the city of Port-au-Prince. If not removed, the debris will impact the flow of the river leading to flooding, which will also take down the tents housing the community.
Because the Haiti project is one of many waste removal projects, Golder developed several software tools to help mange their risks.  Their Waste and Resources Assessment for the Environment (WRATE) tool “assess the environmental impacts of waste management activities during their whole life” (Golder Associates, 2015).
Golder also has an integration management system which “applies to all elements addressed in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001” (Golder Associates, 2015). Having an integrated system assists with managing projects not local to the headquarters element.  Integrated management systems ensures the field offices are all working using the same standards and requirements and following the same policies and procedures. This improves overall efficiencies and reduces possible duplication efforts.
