Discrimination can be defined as treating individuals unequally based on their perceived group membership. Discrimination is an act in which one individual believes that another human being or groups are below him or her. They act out against these groups or individuals which, in terms intimidate the groups being discriminated against and this will make them feel worthless. Not only is discrimination offensive, but it is also not a politically correct way to show anger or disappointment against people. One should learn to just ignore people that angers one. Discrimination is an incredible doing that can be done by a single individual or a society as a whole.
Race is not regarded as an important biological characteristic but it is still an important social concept. The United States of America is a melting pot. It is a mixture of all ethnic backgrounds and races. There is not one race that is superior to another. Race is just a term that is used to identify a person with. A race is something that an individual should be proud of no matter what that race might be. It is a way to show uniqueness and pride of being who you are. Race can sometimes lead to inequality and in the end cause society to things that are not worthy because it can lead to discrimination towards a whole group of people.
Discrimination towards a race can be an act of heartless behavior. “A few days ago on the campus of the University of Mississippi, someone (reportedly two males) draped a Confederate flag on a statue honoring James Meredith and hung a noose around its neck.” This made many African American students that attended the university to feel unsafe and unwanted because what had gone on their during the acts were unreal. Only monsters that had no heart would have the audacity to do the things that were done to that statue.
