Dear Jenny,
Good friends are just like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there. We are thousands of miles apart from each other, and I miss you. You know, this was not the first time I had to leave friends behind. Those friends were like balloons though. Because once you let go of a balloon, it drifts away and never comes back. But you, you’re different. You’re like a flower. Even if it withers, take good care of it and it grows back even prettier! Hard times never last, but you do! I’ll always be there for you because I know you’ll always be there for me. I guess they are right when they say “A friendship is a promise made in the heart. It’s silent, unwritten, unbreakable by distance, and unchangeable by time.”
You resemble the word “and”. There are many different definitions of “and”. They are: in addition or to join together. The word itself is useless when there are no other words to bring together; it’s lonely. But if you squeeze in the word “and” between two other words, it makes it complete. You make me complete.
Do you remember the days we spent talking all night on the phone? Some days we would talk about boys, and other days we would talk about problems. Some days we would just have nothing to say, but it would never be awkward. Some days, we were so crazy that people thought we were high. Other days, I remember we would crack up laughing for no reason because we were bored.
We are two totally different people. We like different things, we don’t have the same style of clothes, we don’t hang out with the same types of people, and we don’t look anything alike! It astounds me that two totally different people can be such close friends! You were always the mean one, and I was always the nice one. Even though we are so different, we connect in a way.
Our friendship is sort of different. We aren’t school friends, we were neighbors. So, every day, we would come home from school and hang out at home! I...
