Thesis Statement: Without guidance a young boy’s life could be a struggle.
In the story, “Thank You Ma’am”, Roger is a young boy who wanders the streets without parental guidance in his life. Our main concern is can he survive without parents? Children with no parental involvement are so desperate and ruthless with life’s struggle they engage in criminal behavior due to their own vanity. For example, Roger tried to steal Mrs. Jones’ purse just for a pair of shoes.
