Obama Over McCain
Many people believe that Barrack Obama should be elected president in the upcoming election instead of his running mate John McCain. I also support senator Obama, because he has stated that he is going to “help the little guy” instead of continuing the current business plan implied by George Bush (current “lame duck” president) which John McCain would carry out almost the same way if he was elected president. McCain believes that opening the borders to other countries would improve the National Economy. This, however, would only further our plight at home as more exportation of goods and money would become necessary, and due to the currently disputed minimum wage, many workers would be outraged and our national debt would still remain. Obama, however, would require disclosure of all congressional pet projects and force lawmakers to pay for any new spending or tax breaks. McCain also supports the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) efforts to strip workers of their rights to organize. Obama is currently a cosponsor of Legislation to overturn the NLRB.
Another issue that is being debated is the Death Penalty. McCain voted for the 1994 Biden crime bill that expanded the number of offenses punishable by the death penalty. Obama believes that the death penalty “does little to deter crime” but supports it for cases in which “the community is justified in expressing the full measure of its...
