Alaska and Hawaii are popular tourist destinations for their hotels, restaurants, environment, transportation, weather and natural beauty. However, if we compare both places we are going to find that there are several similarities and differences between Alaska and Hawaii.
First of all, if you are planning to visit Alaska you have to take a cruise ship to arrive because most people travel in that way. Once there it’s practical to rent a car and enjoy the view. In contrast, if you are planning to visit Hawaii most people fly there by jumbo jets and according to the article that I read rental cars are cheap and convenient.
Second, if you are thinking in accommodations I have news for you. On one hand, hotels and food in Alaska are expensive and their quality is generally poor. On the other hand, Hawaii has a wide variety of excellent restaurants and hotels.
The natural beauty is present in Alaska with the Chugach Mountains, Mount McKinley and their glaciers. Whereas Hawaii has the volcano national park, waimea canyon and of course their well known beaches.
If we talk about the weather of Alaska I can tell you that the temperature is perfect during the summer and there is no humidity. Therefore, it seldom rains during this season. Unlike Alaska, it can be very hot and humid in Hawaii during the summer. Consequently, it often rain.
One major similarity among Alaska and Hawaii is in the environment. The air, ocean and rivers in Alaska are unpolluted just like Hawaii.
Indeed, I can say that there are much more differences than similarities between Alaska and Hawaii. However, both places are popular tourist destinations in spite of these differences.
