Possibly, the most empowering thing a person can do for himself is to get clear on his deeper sense of purpose and intentions in life. Discovering this sense of purpose and intention can help him move with greater focus and clarity every passing day. One such person who managed to achieve it all was my father.
My father was only an FA pass. It was only because he had discovered the purpose of his life and intended to achieve his dreams that he was able to set up a successful business empire. He dared to dream, to discover the same sense of purpose and intention that he has been able to keep his head held high for all these years. I am proud of the fact that my father is my inspiration.
He always says, “It is not that things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.” This is something that has instilled in me the passion of achieving things others dare not even to set their eyes upon. Through my father, I realized that my life would only become richer and fuller and if I move with greater purpose, focus and intention through each day.
I may not be the best in what I do, but I have always believed that I can be the best. This is the driving force that compels me to go a step ahead of everyone else. I can relate to one such incident that happened not so long ago. I took trials to get into my school football team twice and got rejected both the times. I did not give up and trained even harder and on my third attempt I made it to the squad and then the playing eleven. From then on, I never looked back. I won the man of the match award more than any other player of the team. I dribbled my way up to the top and proved my worth to the coach who eventually made me the captain of the team in my final year of school.
