The topic I am writing about is the richer get richer and the poor getting poorer base of the functionalist theory. Functionalist theory states that each part of society contributes to the stability of the whole society. Different parts of society fill the needs of the whole society and help form and shape society as a whole. Each part of society depend on each other to function properly. This theory emphasizes in the order and social stability along with the shared public values. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer is often stated by many articles and often talk about the 99% and the 1%. The 1% is the percent of the world population of rich capitalist that control 98% of the common people’s wealth and assets. I do believe that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer help society function as a whole.
When the poor have problems like losing their job and not having enough foods to eat at night, they often blame others. I think that blaming other people is like an escape from their reality. They do not want to face reality and there are no such thing as smooth sailing in life. Some may even say living can be a curse and a gift. The poor get poorer sometime often related to their way of thinking. The rich get richer due to their mentality of not giving up and will continue to pursue their goals. The poor sometime will give up easily, not willing to try and do not learn from their mistakes. They are often influenced by their peer with negative mindset. The rich will push through and continue to work hard to keep their wealth.
A lot of people believe that they don't have enough money and almost majority of people spend their money instead of saving it. The poor get poor mostly because they continue to spend their money and do not save it. The Poor are getting Poorer because of their nonsensical and immature thinking, and greed.
