Some of iranian customs

Hello our dear guests!
Welcome to Iran!
I'm happy to see you in this unique country. I hope you will like Iranian contrasts in weather, foods, language dialects and many other. I am sure you know that in Muslim country you have to wear conservative clothes, women should cover their heads. For addressing Iranian people you should use their last name with titles "agha" for man and "khanoom" for woman. This like Mr and Mrs in English. I hope you, our guests, can understand Persian.
And now I want to tell you about the most interesting points in Iranian culture. Without understanding them you can get in an uncomfortable situation.
Iranians are very hospitable people. Everything they do shows how much they love and respect you.
Greetings. Iranians for greetings can shake your hands, kiss you and hug you. And usually they ask you about health and case your and your family. At the same time they answer like you ask them similar questions. They respond very quickly and sometimes don't even hear, if you asked them something or not. You can act the same way. This is more polite than just "Hello".
One more important point this is "taarof". You can translate this like "compliment or offer", but this has more wide meaning. People there can offer their money, tea, clothe and many other. Everyone invites you in their home. In taxi or store they can refuse to take money. But all this is not serious. It's only respect and politeness. Do not think that you do not to have to pay or that you should go to every home or take everything that is offered to you. Iranians very nice and kind people and they really like their guests. But "taarof" this is only their custom.
