Work Place Stress

Introduction:
An organization cannot stand on its own as it works only due to the presence of its employees who works into it. All of us who live in the democracy would want to believe that the organization in which we work tend to provide us with equality, respect and an impartial environment. But having said that do we really believe that whoever works in the environment does treat the others with respect? The answer is in the negative as everyone is not treated equally. There is a differentiation in the thought process when women, minorities and disabled workers work in an organization. However it is not the case with all as behavior of one employee tends to be different from the other. Hence it can be said that the overall behavior of an organization totally depends on the mannerisms of the workers who work in it. The workplace of the organization has to have a decorum which every employee should maintain. There are differences in the behavior towards women and minorities and this is treated as normal. However in an organization, domination of gender is given a responsive look. On a broader view organizational behavior has hardly done anything to address these serious issues instead it has been presented as a model of evaluation. (Wilson, 2003, p.1) There can be several issues that need to be spoken of and among them is the ‘work place stress’. We first would try to find out the real meaning of ‘work place stress’ then we would try to analyze the possible reasons for it and finally we would try to find out that whether it can be negated or not? Costs benefit analysis of ‘stress reduction’ and ‘stress prevention’ activities and its impact on the overall earnings of the ‘organization’.
