This is my student survival guide that I can use through out my studies at the University of Phoenix. During my first two classes I have learned how to use the online classroom and all of the resources available through the student website. I have also learned a lot about setting and achieving goals, managing my time wisely, fostering reading and comprehension, and applying personality and learning skills. I will be outlining how I will use them to help in my further classes at Phoenix University.
To use Axia’s educational resources a student will log onto the student website located at https://ecampus.phoenix.edu. The student will then click on the class they would want to work on. A course description will come up which explains all of the materials needed for that class. As a student reads through this description they may see links that if clicked on will lead them to downloadable audio, video or written transcripts of material. I believe for me that using the audio files and downloading them to a portable device for future use is a great advantage. I did not like this option at first, but since I have used it through both of my classes I have gotten used to the fact that I can listen to them any time I want and anywhere I want. There are times when I do not wish to be tied down to the computer and this makes it very convenient.
I also found using the University Library a good resource for helping with school work. Located in the library are links which will take a student to The Center for Mathematics Excellence, The Center for Writing Excellence, and the search engines for the library. Clicking on the University library will take a student to the different search engines. This has been a great help with all of the research I have done for assignments in both of my classes.
