Philosophy on Teaching
Education plays a major role in today’s society, without an education finding a good job would be almost impossible. I did not want to be a teacher until I was inspired by one of my high school teachers. With being a teacher I feel as though I could play a positive role model for my students, I would emphasize the importance, and benefits of having an education. The purpose of being an educator is to teach information and provide knowledge that will help your students develop maturity and prepare their selves for the rest of their lives. Through teaching I can help students expand their minds, enhance their thinking abilities; and also challenge them to make goals and do things that they never thought they could achieve. My high school teacher challenged me to challenge myself, even though we don’t communicate at all now I will always be grateful for him doing that because it gave me that drive and confidence that made me want to better myself. That same drive ended up having me filling out college applications and giving myself an opportunity that most of my family and peers failed to achieve; which is having to the opportunity to graduate from college.
Most students need some type father figure in their life, as a teacher I wouldn’t try to replace their father but I would make sure I am leading by example. Growing up in a community My role as an educator would be to teach knowledge in a way where students can and should get a full understanding of given materials. It would be my job to learn different teaching strategies so that the lessons I teach will positively affect students and make students more passionate about learning. It would also be my job to find out the different ways that my students learn, this will ensure that they are gaining knowledge... As a teacher, it will be my job to make sure students are achieving in class and out of class.
I plan to teach high school students in grades 9-12. I want...
