I am not sure if we have to have both discussions completed by the end of the week. I think we should at least start composing Week 4 discussion.
Please tell me if my response below to questions is correct. I thought we need to develop an appraisal system from our past class discussions

I choose management by objectives (MBO) appraisal system. Management by objective is a systematic and organized approach that allows management to focus on achievable goals and to attain the best possible results from available resources (Kotelrukov). This system’s supports the organization objective and assist employees on accomplishing the objective. Ideally, employees get strong input to identify their objectives, time lines for completion, etc. MBO includes ongoing tracking and feedback process to reach objectives. (Kotelrukov).

Higher level management formulates the objectives for the organization and gives guidance to managers on how to achieve the goal. Managers develop the best method for subordinates to accomplish the organization objective. In both individual and group appraisals systems, management set goals for his or her employees to follow. However, the individual appraisal system involves information on the individual performance in conducting the objectives requested from the manager. However, the MBO appraisal system for teams focus on the roles of team members and how they accomplish individuals assignments that contribute to the team goal. Individuals are working to achieve the company goal on their own and sometimes may lose focus. Teams assist each other in accomplishing their role.

Difficulties in evaluating team performance may be puzzling. Discovering the contributions from each team members is difficult. Since managers are not interacting with the team, they may have a hard time understanding teams roles and responsibilities.
