There are many reasons that people play video games. People play to say they are the best, money, fun, and you can interact with people in there own game societies. The book explains that games keep you out of solitude unlike books where you are all alone. Sometimes there’s nothing to do, so I play video games.
I take pride in having a high rank on leader boards because it brings better competition, and I like showing them that they aren’t on my level. Gamers like to try to take your spot, talk trash and tell you that you’re lucky. But when you show them how weak they are and they don’t have anything to say, you get a sense of satisfaction. I will not stop playing games until I am respected around the world. When every one knows I am the best, I don’t know if I will stop playing. But I might not play as much or only people that have a high rank.
When I am not playing for respect, I play for money with people that I know. I only play people I know because strangers don’t want to pay you your money, and that is how people get hurt. There is a legit way to play for money, and you get a lot more than you would get of the street. There is a Madden tournament every year, and you could win thousands of dollars in. They have game competitions at Navy Pier in the summer. You could also go to Game Crazy stores and play in game competitions for store credit or games. There is a down side to playing for money; you get to into the game you might through the controller and break it or something in the room. If you can’t handle someone
talking trash, you could lose a friend or get into a fight.
Another side to playing video games is just having fun. When playing a game you can do things you can’t do in real life, like you may never own all the fast quarter million dollar car’s out, but in a video game you can .
