Process Design Matrix and Summary

There are many ways to approach process design. Implementation of the process design depends on the processes involved. In this summary, PlayStation 4 will be used for the product process design and Grocery home delivery for the service process design.
For the service, the design focuses on the customer and the user experience as it pertains to home grocery delivery. The aspect of grocery home delivery as a service allows a design that caters to personal attention to the customer, allows for a self-service approach. The customer can go online and order their groceries giving the experience a unique online presence that allows for them to choose their products. This self service allows them speed in shopping for groceries from the comfort of their home rather than the traditional travel to a grocery store and hustle and bustle for shifting from aisle to aisle. The customer quality aspect is displayed when the customer chooses produce for example. This allows for the personal attention approach as the clerk will gather the groceries and select hopefully the best produce for home delivery to the customer, therefore establishing a positive relationship.
For the product, the focus is on the quality of the product and in the case of the PlayStation 4, the end user experience. The strategy is a continuous flow approach where as many of the product can be assembled so that as much of the product can be released to the public. The process needs to be consistent and repeatable so that the product quality is one that is always experienced by the end user on a consistent basis. The performance measurement needs to be measured on amount of defects from the production process, the lower the better.
