Access Denied: Curbing Easy Access to Mature and Illegal Internet Sites
Over the years countless crimes have been committed simply through use of the internet; crimes such as child trafficking and child pornography. These crimes have been easily committed and effortlessly hidden due to the availability of uncensored and unprotected websites. Not only do unrestricted websites allow for crimes to be committed, they also permit underage viewing of pornography and other adult materials. These problems could be eliminated through locks on sites, fees on pornography and tags for monitoring on child trafficking sites. Also all “home-made” websites should be viewed and approved by the government. The following paragraphs will illustrate the dangers of the above issues, provide arguments, and provide a call to action on how to resolve the problem.
The Smaller Issues of Easy Internet Access
Online predators and human trafficking are a problem for more than one reasons. First of all they are all crimes, thus causing the crime rate to increase. Secondly, innocent children and families are being attacked and hurt through online predators and human trafficking. Also, underage kids exposed to pornography and other adult materials that need to be brought to their attention by their parents, not the internet. These problems have developed a trend over the past couple of years. The most common of the issues have been that of child pornography and human trafficking, both of which developed a steady increase. (Weaver) Previous attempts, such as passed bills, lock codes, and spent billions of dollars to prevent human trafficking. Unfortunately, the United States alone cannot resolve this problem; it is going to take the work of the world.
To begin with, the major aspect of the issue of uncensored internet is the act of child pornography and human trafficking. Over the years these problems have only escalated and a adequate response to end them has yet to be found....
