INTRODUCTION
Samuel Dickey Gordon wrote a series of books titled “Quiet Talks.” The book that will be discussed today is “Quiet Talks on Prayer.” Originally written in the early 1900’s, this book has assisted unknown numbers of people in the realm of prayer for over a century. Anyone that conducts research of any kind on the use of and the power of prayer will indubitably find himself or herself reading a book written by Mister Gordon. This book is written in a style that is extremely reader friendly. Gordon uses the style that creates an atmosphere of carrying on a conversation with its readers. He states, “The greatest thing anyone can do for God and for man is to pray.” This critique will show the overwhelming balance and simplicity of information that makes it an excellent resource for newly found Christians just beginning their walk with Christ.
