Overview
Acme Manufacturing is a global corporation requiring a streamlined solution in terms of networking capabilities, with its present and future growth potential it requires a Wide Area Network (WAN) that can handle the all the various elements within this corporation; cost, functionality, productivity, and robustness are all critical aspects of a networking solution. Acme Manufacturing is based out of Atlanta, Georgia and is expanding its market into numerous cities within the United States as well as cultivating it acquisition of the manufacturing plant located in China; these insights offer a distinct explanation of the basic requirements of a WAN that will augment the entire corporation as a whole. A more detailed description is as follows:
1. Headquarters—Atlanta, Georgia
a. This houses all corporate operations, marketing, administrative staff, and accounting personnel; and central resources.
b. Requires a Local Area Network (LAN) that will ultimately augment the entire WAN; considered as the Central Office (CO).
c. Is the central hub for all server services requiring logical connections; related to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), remote access, and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) and their deployment.
2. Engineering—Atlanta, Georgia
a. This houses sale and engineering personnel
b. Requires a logical connection to server services located in Atlanta, Georgia.
c. Requires a LAN that will augment other segments of the WAN; within these requirements all LANs must also provide telecommunications solutions.
3. Distribution---Chicago, Phoenix, and New York
