Communication Technology
The 21st century that we live in, communication can be done in many different ways other than speaking to someone face to face. The technology of communication has undergone rapid development since the days when pigeons are used as messengers and is improving as we speak. The advancement of telecommunication technology has brought about impact on both the public and private life. In the public life communication technology has many more advantages rather than disadvantage as we can communicate with friends from across the world on social media such as Facebook, to finding new friends on gaming sites. The disadvantages are however, people can provide false information that can be misunderstood. In private life the advantages are that we can stay in touch with our family and friends. However the disadvantages are that our lives can be easily exploited into the public eye. Some apps now a day have the ability to allow others to find out other phone numbers, addresses and location of where you are.
Communication technology has the abilities to broadcast information and therefore can help in the business of advertisements or to send important messages to a wider audience about important causes that are happening around the world. Technology can help people who love shopping can just spend their time on internet shopping and doesn’t need to go out to the shops which can save time too. This can be seen as a disadvantage as people will spend more time indoors away from social interaction and also not get out and pick up in store deals. One of the disadvantages of technology is that now a day teenagers prefer to spend their time playing on online games then getting out meeting their friends and socializing. Technology has also affected peoples learning abilities as there has been a decrease in reading of books in our decade as more people look to the internet for information that does not enhance our brain capacity.
