The recruitment and selection of employees is a highly crucial process within any organization. Success of an organization is as much dependent on the kind of employees it employs as it depends on the type of leaders it has. It has been proved that the amount of time spent in hiring the right type of employee goes a long way in determining the success of an organization. I have learnt a lot of finer nuances about the process and how it should be conducted fairly and how a good recruitment and selection process will result in better and more motivated employees (Mathis, 2008). The material is of great value to me at present. Also, due to the state of the economy, this information may become even more important in the near future. The different recruiting methods will help me in my search for new employment. What I have studied allows me to see what the interviewer is thinking and what kind of training is given to him or her. Using the knowledge I have obtained, I should be able to tell right away if the company I am applying to is a company of integrity. I have a better understanding of why employers use certain selection methods. I will also be better at applying for positions which are the best suited to my skills. Knowing all of the various forums for distributing resumes is very helpful. In total all this information would be helpful by giving me information on where to search for new jobs and what ways will be successful at getting a new job (Sarvadi, 2006). The material will be of great importance in the future as well when I get promoted to a position where I would be responsible for hiring employees. Learning how to strategically recruit and select the right employees is beneficial to me because it helps me to understand how a pool of candidates is narrowed to only the select group that earns an interview.
