2) Plainsong has many examples of parenting and all the issues that come along with being a parent. Three examples of parenting that I have chosen to discuss are Guthrie being a parent to Ike and Bobby, Ella being a mother to Ike and Bobby, and The McPherons parenting Victoria.
Guthrie, the father of Ike and Bobby, is a dedicated father. I believe that he is a great example of a parent who is going through hard times and making the best of things with his two sons. He is going through very hard times because his wife moved to Denver and kind of abandoned the family. Guthrie loves his children and this is obvious. Events such as when he takes them to the McPherons farm and lets them move the cows to the shoot by themselves. He is trying to make them become independent. Not very many parents would let their 8 and 10 year old sons are around a full-grown cow that weighs near 1,200 pounds. This also means that Ike and Bobby trust their father a lot. She may be depressed or sick or not mentally healthy but this doesn’t give her an excuse to abandon her whole family. I believe that if she were to stay around and be a mother and a wife that it would help her through whatever struggles she is facing. Ella may love her kids but she doesn’t...
