The aim of this assignment is to gain an understanding of why communication is an important skill and why they are required by all employees to build positive relationships with colleagues and customers and for which will positively affect an organisations success. This assignment will be based on Highgate Wood School. Task 1 will be explaining the different types of business information, their sources and purposes, analysing different types of business information and their sources and evaluate the appropriateness of business information used to make strategic decisions. Task 2 will be about how to present business information effectively. Task 3 is about the issues and constraints in relation to the use of business information. Task 4 is about communicating business information and using the appropriate methods.

Verbal Information – Face-to-face verbal communication is the best way to communicate. There is less scope for misunderstanding and it allows for verbal and non- verbal messages. The purpose of verbal information is to convey any thoughts that you have and to share your ideas efficiently, also to make sure people understand what you are trying to explain. Highgate Wood School would use this type of communication in assemblies, meetings or when they are talking with a student’s parent, because it is the easiest way for people to understand something or to resolve a problem that has occurred. This can be used for teaching and learning. Teachers can use this to explain things to students if they didn’t understand how to approach a given task.
Written Information – Writing is the use of physical symbols to represent words. Words are the sounds that make up speech, but this definition can be broadened to include other forms of physical representation.
