The Big Picture of Bullying
I believe that bullying represents a main issue in the education world. I will develop an academic argument about what I believe to be a very important subject in the school environment. Parents and students and even employers need to know that this issue is very serious and is nothing to play with.
In order to understand how bullying is a big education issue, I will first start with the definition of bullying. Next, I will focus on the consequences that bullying can bring to the victims and the overall school environment. The final goal of this research is to help others know how to deal with bullying at school. To accomplish this people must know first how to identify bullying and help it come to a stop. There are many types of bullying like school bullying, physical bullying, verbal bullying and cyber bullying. These are the four main aspects of bullying that I will be talking about in this argument.
What is bullying? Bullying means the superior strength or influence to intimidate someone, typically to force him or her to do what one wants. Bullying can be described as an unwanted aggressive behavior towards an person that involves a power imbalance, whether real or fake. The term bullying is thrown around a bit excessively these days, and one thing that everybody needs to keep in mind is that not every confrontation is an instance of bullying.
Here are some facts that I found in this research “It is estimated that 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students” (Fact and Statics). “1 in 7 Students in Grades K-12 is either a bully or a victim of bullying and 56% of students have personally witnessed some type of bullying at school ”(Facts and Statics). It’s just wrong that kids can’t go to school without worrying about being bullied. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about that it’s just plain wrong.
