MANSFIELD: David Bromley Doss, 63, of Sunnydale Avenue, Mansfield, died Monday afternoon February 12, 2007 in Med Central Mansfield Hospital, following a short illness. He was born December 26, 1943 in Fort Gay, West Virginia, to Fred and Tennessee (Pennington) Doss, and was graduated from Fort Gay High School in 1963. David was a U.S. Army veteran he served abroad in Germany. He moved to Mansfield in 1968, and accepted a position with Empire Detroit Steel Mill as a millwright and crane operator. With 34 |years of service, he retired in 2002 and worked part-time with Schmidt Security. David was a member of The Fathers Vineyard, and loved playing softball and bowling and going fishing. Above all of these activities, David was a family man: he loved his family…especially spoiling his grandbabies! He is survived by his wife Joy A. (Sluss) Doss, whom he married August 12, 1967; daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Jason Oney. Mansfield; son David Brian Doss of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren David Eugene Doss, Heather Doss, Holly Doss, Hayden Oney and Hannah Oney; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Judy Doss and Roger and Loretta Doss all of Fort Gay, WV; Eugene Doss of Ft. Gay; Julie and Don Pratt of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Paul Doss, Danzel Doss, Jimmy Darrell Doss, Fred Doss, Jr., Edith Frazier, Ethel Adkins, Kenneth Doss, Leonard Doss, Elizabeth Wellman,...
