Concept of health
The positive concept of health is all about the individuals making sure they have a strong health and make sure to bring themselves out of illness to do this people have to makes sure to keep active/fit and eat healthy. Rather than focusing on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, it decides to focuses of improving health and the well-being.
The negative concept of health in when an individual believes that there is nothing wrong with them as they have a good state of health and well-being because there is no physical illness, disease, injury, mental stress and free from pain/discomfort. This mainly focuses on physical health and disease this is because if individual has a disease it will affect them physically
The holistic concept of health looks at the whole body of individual as one including the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual (PIESS) to individuals. For example, if someone is experiencing depression it will not only look at the symptoms to get rid of them but look at the whole person as whole. Such as their diet, what caused it from life experiences, if they are active and whether they have emotional support from friends and family or not.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not just the absence of disease and infirmity.
Iceberg is a term to describe the large amount of illness that go unreported and the statistic produced by the government and doctors have a 94% of unreported illness missing from the statistics. There might be three was that can be described as ill health such as a general feeling of illness, a set of symptoms relating to a disease, or as a failure of a part of one’s bodily system. Reasons people don’t report ill health might be because they feel embarrassed, or not that need as “it will go away”.
