Why do so many Americans want to lose weight? Most people are not concerned with their health, but their appearance instead. We, as Americans, have placed so much importance on the way we look, however, feeling good about yourself is a matter of being healthy inside as well. The name of this specific diet, the Hollywood Diet, displays the wrong path Americans have taken to a “healthier” person.
The Hollywood Diet consists of drinking juice. Yes, that is all you can drink for 48 hours to satisfy your thrival right of hunger. They promise that you can lose ten pounds by drinking this so called “miracle juice”. The word Hollywood in the name catches people’s eye first. Everyone wants to look like the famous people in Hollywood. However, this image of beauty is distorted and unrealistic. People just don’t look like that. Our perception of famous people in magazines has been toyed with. There is an amazing program being used today worldwide. Everyone you see in magazines has been photoshopped. How come no one ever has freckles? How come they are always tan? How come they all seem to have the perfect body? People should not look to them as role models or someone they aspire to look like. You never can achieve perfection.
The diet claims to disturb your normal food intake and cleanse your digestive system. It also claims to turn on your body’s “fat burning furnace.” This declares that it restores the biochemical and balances minerals in tissues and cells. Basically, to be on the diet you need no groceries for two days. Head to the store and buy yourself a $25 bottle of Hollywood Juice. It may not last you the whole time. Roughly you’re spending $50 to damage the inside of your body. This is the only thing you are allowed to have for two days straight. That should be a hint that it is not safe.
