One Minute Monologue
Oh hey! Excuse me, I need some advice. Yes it’s about next year and I have no idea where to even begin. Time really flies when you don’t notice all the little changes in life. Look, I look back and I wonder ‘how did I get here so fast’, you know? I remember celebrating my fourth birthday like it was just last week, it was a pure meadow of happiness where I was sharing cake with my friends and my teacher, then later I heard a roaring echo in the room and we were put to sleep.
The next thing I knew, my parents announced that we were having a new member to the family and the feeling was like opening a present to find what you never thought you wanted, given! My dad found a new, better job and we were able to travel to a neighborhood where the colours are more than just black and white. Then the work started piling on and my clothes got dirtier. I was more eager to clean them than to put them to real good use, but they just kept getting fuzzier like my vision, like getting sand kicked in my eyes.
Those friends I was talking about? They kicked it; I didn’t know why until I wiped and I saw it, I saw it like Ras the exhorter becoming a destroyer; and since then I kept wiping so I can see the homonym of which associates with life and the burden of their heavy pockets.
