Opinion on Iraq War

My Point of View on the Iraq War

Those who supported the war, I am the complete opposite. I opposed to the war greatly ever since the beginning. There was no rush to why we should’ve started the war so soon. There was no evidence of weapons of mass destruction. The one reason why we started to attack Iraq was to look for their weapons of mass destruction but there was none to be found. Even after Saddam Hussein escaped, there was still no weapons of mass destruction so the question is, was there any to begin with? In my point of view, the U.S just wants to gain control over the Iraq’s oil. Starting a war without the United Nation’s support was completely wrong because it makes the U.S seem selfish. We were the one who demanded and gained the control over the Iraq’s oil from the United Nation. Even though the reason behind taking control over the second biggest source of oil in the world meant to sell it off to pay for the war, it’s still wrong. Doing this doesn’t help the citizen of the U.S. nor does it do any better for the citizen of Iraq. The world sees us as a low, selfish, self-centered country because we’re doing this for ourselves without thinking of others. Not to mention, creating a war without the world’s support will do not but only hurt our own citizens’ security.
Enough said with that, another reason why I am so against the war is because Bush believed that attacking Iraq will stop terrorists from Iraq and the world’s terrorist. However, what he did not know was that it will not stop but only create more. By attacking innocent people and calling it to stop the bad in the world isn’t the best solution. It only creates more hatred and revenge because we are hurting the innocent people. Bombs after bombs and gun fires one after another will leave that dent in their heart. Their loved ones getting hurt and killed when they didn’t even do anything. Innocent people soon will not be anymore and will seek for revenge if they have to or when they want...
