For the purpose of this module of Policies and framework, I will choose a policy document which I will critically analyze its structure to look into how it affects the the school’s policy and future development. Secondly, I will provide a description of the policy chosen. Moreover, the history and rationale of the policy will be discussed. However, to be more clear and concise I will also be writing upon its implementation in school. Later, the policy will then be looked in different perspective to reflect and evaluate the positive impact on the current practice of the school. Subsequently, to make further connections from the module with my teaching and learning experience, I will determine ways to effectively support the policy the way it is put into place. I will also figure out ways to improve the policy for the future development of our school. Finally, i will conclude this critical analysis by summing up all the relevant points
I have chosen to use the assessment policy of school. The main reason I have particularly choosing the assessment policy is because assessment are vital in every child, parent and teacher as it provides an over view of the areas where their child may work and focus to succeed. It also appears to be a tool which helps the teacher to highlight their capabilities and weakness in the process of teaching. According to Mansell, W., James, M. & the Assessment Reform Group (2009) ‘close focus on helping teachers and pupils build a shared understanding of the progress the pupil has made in order to provide pointers for further development’. This clearly states that an assessment contributes to both party’s’ students’ and teachers’ in multitude ways to grow.
